Responsible Sports Parent Tip |
After a game, ask your child if he enjoyed playing. Regardless of the outcome, remind him that you enjoyed watching him play.
Be accountable for getting your child to games and practices on time. You'll be setting the example that the coach's rules should be respected.
Have your child set some goals for him/herself before the season. If the goals are all about skills or results, remind your child that "having fun" should be at the top of the list.
Go out of your way to meet the other parents on your child's team. If you want your child to make friends among the team, you should set the example among the parents. |
